The Virgins of UMOJA

Charging towards the viewer and now completed in time for The Art of Living Black Open Studio Tour 2006, the first weekend of March. This piece represents the first of my many tributes to come of the fabulous ensemble from South Africa, UMOJA (the spirit of togetherness). Simply fabulous. This shows how the energetic maidens of the village enter into and assert themselves as new adults as the ushering drums welcome them.
