The Fire Horse

My friend Amanda weaves in and out of my life and it is she who has named this little horse of 'fire'.  Her father told her, as a bedtime story while still a little girl, about an impish and lovable entity named  Poncha-koola.  The name is Italian but somehow I like it for my 'FireHorse'.  After all, Sicily is almost in sight of Africa and my little horse could have stood on the shores of his African home and seen it, with the great vision of his species.

Poncha-koola loved to play with other young souls but his unfortunate trait of sputtering fire put them  in grave danger and severely limited his playmates!  Poor Poncha-koola.
