Two major black women in opposite ends of the State of California rose from slavery to become millionaires and in the process played powerful roles in the affairs of the new state of California.  Both were also associated with secretly funding the death of slavery, corresponded with the key players like John Brown, Sojourner Truth and Harriet Tubman, making them the true sisters of 'Califia', California's mythical Black Queen.
