The Scorpion King was the predecessor of all the pharaohs that followed, perhaps the first, and what a long and distinguished line it was.  Even though there were several periods of decline and phoenix-like re-newal, and a number of distinctly different periods through which Kemet passed, these periods appear more nominal than a true indication of the greatness of the country.
