If you keep doing anything long enough stuff accumulates.  I could sit back and pat myself on the back for being so prolific but the truth be told it is hard to keep track of everything so it is time to build a storage shed  for the overflow, since I don't want to throw anything away.  Not just yet anyway.
The images below are not necessarily accurate as to the year they were created, perhaps they are off by a year or so but they do represent the creative space I was in at the time.  Perhaps a growth trend can be found herein.  Perhaps not.

My wife told me I was ready to sell my so-called art sometime in the early 70s.  Of course I disagreed (for no good reason, I guess)  These early works were charcoal and pencil, then later to color pencil, then to acrylics.   Even early on Africa as a subject consumed me.

The 'Year of the Tygers'.  A year and time of much experimentation, further experimentation. Every new picture reveals that more lies under the current layer of the onion, and I decided to follow the road less trodden, if trodden at all.  I am more and more convinced I am the only one on this path, my own teacher, my own student. All in all a very good class .

Increasingly I became more fascinated by the use of bleach as a medium and by the year 2000 I started to use it exclusively.  By now I could see all kinds of new and different techniques to explore and couldn't get to them quickly enough. People freely gave their opinion on what I should do and how.  The advice may have been valid, quite often it was.  Time does not permit following those ideas given there already is an agenda.

My good friend Amanda Dewald taught junior high school in the Bronx, NY.  at a tough school where the majority is made up of ethnic minorities with many carrying huge emotional loads.  Her picture here marks a turning point in my art as some new techniques were introduced with her portrait.

The Alpha and Omega

Frozen at the moment, the dawn of time.

For this year here come the masks!
